You can get involved in Freyathlon in lots of ways: sharing stories and photos, encouraging others to get active, even giving me a blast if you think I’m slacking! Freyathlon is all about getting involved and supporting others.
Two charities have helped me a lot – providing support and assistance when I was going through treatment and beyond. And I’m involved with both charities as a volunteer.
- Bloodwise works to stop people dying from blood cancer, make patients’ lives better, and stop people getting blood cancer in the first place.
- Macmillan Cancer Support provides practical support, helping with all the things that people affected by cancer want and need.
If you’d like to support these two charities help people like me, you can find out about volunteer opportunities with Bloodwise and Macmillan Cancer Support or give financial support to both charities on my Freyathlon fundraising page.
And I’d like to encourage you to give blood.
I used to give blood but I can’t do it any more. I’m really grateful people have given blood to the NHS Blood and Transplant Service because when I was going through treatment I needed a blood transfusion. So I’d like to encourage as many people as possible to give blood – to help people like me, and many others.
